The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Fighters Table

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the urban setting.

Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.

This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.

At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear unsuited, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

First, the group understands precisely where to head next after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose death initiated the story’s plot—used the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.

The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks revenge.
  • The adventurer knows the region and advises that it is a nasty place.
  • The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, The fighter swore a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that control the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The warrior and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
  • The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This leaves them no alternative but to head to Timmony in quest for Casimir.

What’s Next?

Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the combat party will be absent next week, leaving the other eight players to form the Questers and Schemers tables.

Viewers can expect finding out which players will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
